Our Story

Hi, my name is Wandee Rivas. The founder & creator of Bethel & Co. I started this business in 2018 out of my apartment kitchen, In Atlanta GA. 

I began making soy candles as a creative and therapeutic outlet from the monotony of a 9-to-5 job. I was dissatisfied with my current position and wanted to do something different. Creating has always been a passion of mine, beginning with my love of all things design and aesthetic. I started a graphic design business and, while I enjoyed assisting other women in pursuing their dreams, I yearned for more myself.

And here I am owning my very own Product based business- Bethel & Co

I remember coming home from work after a long day of talking on the phone, and all I wanted to do was sit in silence with a burning candle.

After becoming immersed in the world of candle making, I discovered that the majority of candles that we are burning in our homes are made with paraffin wax, a petroleum by-product that emits a carcinogenic soot when burned, potentially causing respiratory issues and cancer. I had no idea that many of the candles we were burning in our homes were toxic to our environment & health. 

Our candles are all hand-poured in our Atlanta, Georgia studio. The fragrances and essential oils are blended into small batches of 100% coconut soy wax. Our candles are phthalate-free and will burn slowly & clean all the way to the bottom. Every candle is hand-poured, hand labeled, and packaged by hand. We are proud to produce a product that is beautiful, environmentally friendly, and made in the United States
